The first time I signed up with Trilogy Lead Scoring, I did my own experiment. I took all of our sold leads from the past month from two different stores and ran them through the system. 95% were rated "hot", 5% were rated "warm" and not a single one of our sold leads were rated "cold" by the lead scoring. I then took leads we were still working and started with the "hot", "warm" and then "cold". The results were amazing. This really worked!
That is why, each time I was hired to build an eCommerce Department from the ground up, one of the first things I did was set up the stores with Trilogy Lead Scoring. I found that the information was extremely accurate which allowed my staff to focus on the hot leads first and then work their way through the "colder" leads. All leads were followed up after but we developed a system to follow up with "hot" leads first with a certain process of calls and emails and then worked our way through the "warm" and then "cold" leads, each one with a different process. By doing this we were able to sell more cars by responding quicker to the hottest leads and focusing on them first.
